Landscaping

When you are preparing to create a new landscape for your property, there are a variety of options for how to go about it. Some people choose to hire one company to design the project and a different company to build it. At Mooibosch, we do both for our clients. Why not hire one company to do it all? The benefits are many, but it all comes down to having the ability to achieve your goals in a smooth, streamlined process. The results are a simplified design process, easier project management, improved estimating and cost controls, fewer administrative burdens, and an efficient building process. We appoint a suitable designer for your project, install pools, decks, pergolas, coping, pavers, turf installations, retaining walls, driveways, fences, automated gates, and outdoor kitchens.

Design

Mooibosch Landscaping collaborates with talented architects, builders, outdoor designers, and landscape architects. Regardless of the project, everything we do is a collaboration – whether it is between the client and our team, or working with an architectural firm, one of our peers in the landscaping business, a home builder, or a garden designer. When collaborating with other businesses, it is always exciting to see how our shared appreciation for clean design and passion for excellence in workmanship come together into a unified outdoor environment for each family.

Pools

Mooibosch installs Harvest Fibreglass pools as well as contract companies to install concrete. The main differences are that Harvest fibreglass has built-in seats and a step ledge around the entire pool that provides a safety feature. They are also low maintenance, non-abrasive and very quick to install. They have beautiful finishes boasting beautiful colours made from marine-grade gelcoat, ensuring the surface in contact with the pool is in the very best condition. The concrete pool, on the other hand, will allow you to go as big as you want, provide more flexibility with swimming pool design features, and let you create a work of art. Fibreglass can take a week or two to install, whereas concrete can take about 3 to 6 months.

Decks & Pergolas

A custom deck should complement the home, along with tasteful landscaping! Decks give additional living space, and they’re less expensive than adding a room to your house.  They can provide a private space for you to relax, create breathtaking views of the ocean, or complement a lifestyle of outdoor hosting. Whether it’s a small, simple deck or one on a grander scale, we are here to listen, create, and design (or redesign) a functional and beautiful home environment unique to your style. A custom pergola is the perfect garden feature to help create a safe haven from the harsh sun. The most important characteristics of the pergola lie in its structure, materials, placement, and design.  Mooibosch can help you decide on a variety of designs- from simple square wood to larger square or round pillars, or from closed or wider spread lattice tops. Mixing and matching different styles that suit your tastes can help you relax on those plentiful sunny days and complement your backyard landscaping!

Paving

Your home’s architecture should be reflected in the type of stone used for your paver driveway, paths, and pool. Whether your home’s style is contemporary, traditional, a villa, or any other kind of style, we’ll recommend pavers that will blend seamlessly with its design. Our team will consider your home’s entire aesthetic, including design, colour scheme, layout, and more, as they craft a custom design tailored entirely to your preferences. Your paver front entryway or back patio will stand out distinctly from the other properties on your block, making your home the envy of the neighbourhood and adding significant value to your property. Your new paver pool deck will dazzle your friends and family when they visit! Your paved pool deck can also add significant value to your property with the fresh new look or functionality that comes with a new paver pool deck.

Turf Installation

The grass showdown – real grass or turf? While real grass sounds nice, artificial grass is the clear winner when it comes to the amount of maintenance required to keep it looking great. Once installed, the turf option does not require ongoing care like mowing, weeding, watering, seeding or spraying. Quality fake grass looks fantastic and offers a solution for outdoor areas where natural grass may be problematic, such as balconies, rooftops or particularly shady spaces. Whatever sized turf your home requires, we can assist with installation.

Fences

A beautiful new fence adds value, privacy, and security to your home. Choose from wooden rails, solid board with cap and trim, picket, split rails, as well as custom design. Aluminium fencing is also a great way to denote a perimeter while maintaining your view. It’s also an excellent option for entryways and sectioning select areas of your yard. Unlike iron, aluminium does not rust, making it an outstanding low maintenance option. Glass fencing is clean, contemporary and allows incomparable uninterrupted views. Frameless glass fencing is available for decks, balconies, patios, staircases, steps, garden or retaining walls or even as a glass partition for a windbreak.

Retaining Walls

Retaining walls come in all shapes and sizes. Some are made of concrete, others wood and lately Corten steel. Retaining walls are built to keep soil in place, whether on a hillside or to create an attractive tiered effect in your garden or backyard. They require planning and can have many considerations, including, but not limited to, soil, drainage, loads, geology, and height. Mooibosch can build various retaining walls based on your needs and desired outcome.

Driveways

As the first impression of your home, driveways can and should be aesthetically pleasing, welcoming you home. Some of your options include concrete, brick, asphalt, gravel, crushed stone, paver, basalt, cobblestone, tar and chip driveway.

Outdoor Kitchens

What better way than to spend beautiful New Zealand summers outdoors with family and friends? To get the most out of your patio and backyard spaces, consider adding a full-service kitchen to make outdoor entertaining effortless and chic. Another bonus of an outdoor kitchen? You can prepare meals and cook all in one place without leaving your guests unattended. Bring in personality and liven up your outdoor kitchen with splashes of colour in the furnishings, place settings and surfaces for the full effect. Add the finishing touch to your poolside service with a mini-fridge, or you could even install a kegerator to always keep pint glasses topped up. Outdoor kitchens are the answer for casual dining and lots of good memories.

Maintenance

With just a few small tweaks to your pool and landscaping maintenance routine, you’ll be reaping the money-saving rewards in no time. The Mooibosch team will help you care for your gorgeous new outdoor assets by providing valuable maintenance advice and a comprehensive range of maintenance solutions to keep your pride and joy in sparkling tip-top form all year round.

Our 5 Step Process.

01.

Analysis

First, we come out to your house and do a complete measurement of all the existing features. We map out utility locations, spot elevations and more, so we can evaluate where levels need to change and look for potential drainage issues. We’ll answer any questions you may have about your outdoor project. In this first step, you end up with a complete map of your property that you can use for any projects down the road.

02.

Consultation

After assessing your property, we take photos and exact measurements to put into CAD to create your design and give you an accurate estimate. When the site plan is ready, we will arrange a consultation for you in our office with our Design Team Lead. We’ll discuss your needs and priorities, review design ideas and by the end of the meeting, you’ll have a rough sketch of your project along with a very good idea of what it may cost.

If the proposed direction and budget work for you, we then engage in a Landscape Design Agreement and assign one of our designers who’s the right fit for your project. Our typical designs cost $1,350 but can range from $300 all the way to $3,000, depending on the scope of work.

03.

Conceptual Meeting

Within a week or two, the first conceptual meeting is held at our office. Your designer will present the plans based on the initial concepts from the first meeting. At this point, you get to review the design, pick out materials, review a more accurate ballpark of your project and discuss any revisions you may have.

After your meeting, the designer gets started on working everything out for the final plan.

04.

Analysis

Now, we meet one last time in our office to go over the final plans. At this point, the design has been modified to your preferences and the estimate finalised. Of course, if additional revisions are needed, we’ll keep working to make it right. It’s important that you love the plan and that it’s according to a budget that works for you.

05.

The Construction

At this point, the plans have been approved, the contracts are completed, and the fun part can begin: The Work! The designer will have completed working drawings that the crew can use to efficiently install your dream landscape. You’ll be assigned a Job Coordinator as your single point of contact, who will facilitate any construction concerns moving forward.

With our friendly, dedicated crews we’ll make sure your project is a success!
